Warning

PureTrack does not offer any monitoring service. Pilots need to have event organisers using PureTrack, or organise their own safety crew or buddies to watch them using PureTrack.

Safety Tracking Pilots Guide

If you're competing in an event that is using PureTrack safety tracking and watchlist, this guide will explain the basics of how it works. Using PureTrack safety tracking is completely free for pilots.

Pre contest

  • Make sure you've registered an account with PureTrack
  • Configure all your trackers, apps and devices from the dashboard.
  • Test your devices and trackers before the event. Some devices need to be moving to transmit location data (e.g. SPOT and some apps). Make sure they appear on PureTrack as expected.

Flying

At the start of the day you don't need to do anything. During the day, leave your tracking devices on until you're back home safe, even after flying.

Your event organisers will tell you if you need to use PureTrack's watchlist system or not, and what the procedures are. Your event organisers will need to be using and watching PureTrack to be notified if you need help.

Using the PureTrack website, you can set your state after landing. Before you can set your state you need to:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your map marker on the map.

States you can set include:

  • 'Home'. When you are back home safe.
  • 'Safe'. When you've landed and are down safe. And don't need a retrieve, or aren't sure yet.
  • 'Need retrieve'. If you've landed and you need a retrieve.
  • 'Need assistance'. You need some non-emergency help.
  • 'Need medical help'. You've been injured and need help, but it's not critical.
  • SOS / Emergency. You need emergency help as soon as possible.
  • Reset or Stationary. If you want to clear any of the above states, and go back to automatic flying/moving/stationary tracking.

PureTrack State Reference

See the state refefence page for details on each state.
