Introducing PureTrack Radar, a new mini app designed specifically to improve your situational awareness while flying. It's a super simple, stripped down user interface that makes seeing who's around easy.
We're releasing this slightly experimental, early look at PureTrack Radar for testing and feedback. Happy Christmas!
PureTrack Radar is currently free to use for testing (this may change in the future), with thermal and climb markers requiring a PureTrack Pro subscription to view.
Distractions are removed, the interface is simple. Focus on seeing who's up ahead and where they climbed.
PureTrack Radar can be used track up, giving a great view ahead, or center yourself on the map to see more behind you, or pan/rotate/zoom the map manually to explore further.
Aircraft far above or below you are filtered out, so you won't see big jets flying overhead. The altitude band visible is configurable.
Trails show where people have just been, and how fast they're moving.
A new colour scheme makes it easier than ever to spot a good thermal up ahead. Light blue/green for weak thermals, through orange then red and purple for strong climbs. Thermals fade and go 'fuzzy' as they get old. A simple number on the thermal indicates the strength.
Thermal and climb markers are a PureTrack Pro feature. Try a free trial today.
Everything is designed for simple, hands free usage while flying.
Graphics are high contrast black/white, and choose between a black or white theme.
The simple menu gives you quick access to choose what layers to see. And they're all at the bottom of the screen for easy access on large devices.
PureTrack Radar does require internet access while you fly, so we've optimised, reduced, and compressed the data sent to your device as much as possible.
Data intensive layers such as terrain and rain radar can be disabled for a simple radar view.
